Taiwan could host more clinical trials

Taiwan should capitalize on its strengths in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials and strive to overtake competitors, with the goal of establishing Taiwan as an "Asia-Pacific center for innovative treatments for rare diseases," said Minister of Health and Welfare Shih Chung-liang yesterday. Adimmune's Benova Bio Secures First Swine Bivalent Vaccine License, Targeting US$1 Billion Asian Market

Adimmune Corporation (TW: 4142) has officially entered the animal vaccine market. Its subsidiary, Benova Bio, announced on the 11th that a bivalent vaccine targeting Porcine Circovirus (PCV) recombinant and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (SEP), co-developed with Taiwan's Agricultural Technology Research Institute, received an animal vaccine license from Taiwan's Ministry of Agriculture at the end of July. TAHO Pharmaceuticals' CDO Strategy Begins to Bear Fruit

TAHO Pharmaceuticals (TW: 6467) said it recognized revenue from CDO projects for the second consecutive month in July, with monthly revenue rising from NT$1.318 million in June to NT$1.671 million in July, reflecting growing contributions from its expanding CDO business. Belite Bio's Stargardt Eye Drug Application Accepted by US FDA, Decision Expected in February

Belite Bio, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Lin Bioscience (TW: 6696), announced on the 12th of August that the US FDA has accepted its New Drug Application (NDA) for oral drug Tinlarebant (LBS-008) for the treatment of Stargardt disease (STGD1) and granted it Priority Review designation. Under the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA), the US FDA has set a target action date of February 12, 2027. If approved, Tinlarebant could become the worldÕs first approved treatment for STGD1. PharmaEssentia's first-half profit surges 120% YoY, EPS reaches NT$11.35, gross margin hits 91%

PharmaEssentia (TW: 6446) reported first-half 2026 net profit of NT$4.679 billion, up 123% year over year, with EPS of NT$11.35. The company said profitability increased significantly in the first half. TaiGen Biotechnology's influenza drug approved for Phase III clinical trial in South Korea

TaiGen Biotechnology (TW: 4157) announced that South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has approved the IND application for a Phase III clinical trial of the influenza drug Pixavir marboxil (BRC-201) oral capsules. The approval was obtained by TaiGen's South Korean partner, Boryung Biopharma, which will conduct the trial and continue development activities in South Korea. Foresee Pharmaceuticals' July Revenue Surges 242% YoY as CAMCEVI Commercialization Gains Momentum

Foresee Pharmaceuticals (TW: 6576) reported July 2026 consolidated revenue of approximately NT$30.28 million, up 177% month over month and 242% year over year. First seven-month revenue reached NT$292 million, up 26.5% year over year. July revenue included NT$22.45 million from US sales of six-month CAMCEVI, NT$6.12 million in US and European sales royalties, and NT$1.71 million in service revenue. Its licensing partner plans to launch the three-month CAMCEVI formulation in the US and Europe in the second half of 2026. EirGenix (TW: 6589) announced that both July revenue and cumulative revenue for the first seven months of 2026 had reached three-year highs. July revenue exceeded NT$200 million, representing a 184% increase year over year, while cumulative revenue for January-July reached NT$833 million, up 71% from the same period last year. The revenue growth was mainly driven by the steady expansion of its CDMO (contract development and manufacturing) business, as well as the recognition of milestone payments related to two HER2 biosimilars, EG12014 and EG1206A, for the global and Japanese markets, which significantly boosted overall revenue.
