Elixiron Immunotherapeutics' new drug EI-1071 gains international recognition 28 July, 2025 Determined not to let foreign pharmaceutical companies dominate the field, Elixiron Immunotherapeutics is focusing on modulating brain immunity as its core strategy. The company is developing a microglia-targeting drug, Enrupatinib (EI-1071), primarily for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. This novel therapy has been recognized by the Global Neurodegeneration Proteomics Consortium, founded by Bill Gates, and has already entered Phase II clinical trials. More... (in Chinese) |
APN LifeSciences develops APN-1607 as a breakthrough early detection tool 28 July, 2025 Taiwanese pharmaceutical companies are quickly catching up in the race to develop diagnostics and treatments for dementia. Among them, APN LifeSciences, which focuses on precision diagnostics for neurodegenerative diseases, has received strategic investment from the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF), founded by the Estee Lauder family. The company's PET imaging tracer, 18F-APN-1607 (Florzolotau [18FJ]), enables real-time tracking of tau protein pathology in the brain, allowing accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP)--both tau-related disorders. The product has already been used in over 4,000 cases globally, building a large-scale clinical imaging database and supporting global multi-center clinical trials, including: A Phase II trial for Alzheimer's disease in the US, and A Phase III diagnostic trial for PSP, which has received Orphan Drug and Fast Track Designations from the US FDA. Taiwan Bio-Manufacturing Company to mass produce vaccines 25 July, 2025 Taiwan Bio-Manufacturing Company said Friday its vaccine facility in Zhubei, Hsinchu County will go online next year. TBMC CEO Chang Yu-hsiang announced that plant construction will finish by year-end, with verification in Q1 2026 and full-scale production in Q2, per CNA. The plant will produce 13 million doses annually, with the ability to quadruple output in emergencies, he said at BIO Asia-Taiwan in Taipei. More... |
