BIO Asia-Taiwan 2025 to highlight new opportunities

BIO Asia-Taiwan 2025 will be held from July 23 to 27, with this year's theme being "Next Wave of Biotech Opportunities". Building on last year's momentum, the event will once again feature three major forums: Innovation Forum, Investment Summit, and Regional Collaboration Forum. Over 900 companies have already signed up to exhibit across 2,200 booths, and the event is expected to attract biotech professionals from 50 countries, setting a new record in scale. More... Pulxion Medical Technology partners with medical device giant Medtronic to promote early disease screening

Pulxion Medical Technology has announced a strategic partnership with Medtronic through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration will focus on promoting Pulxion Medical Technology's core products in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, aiming to accelerate the adoption of early disease screening technologies. Pulxion, a medical tech startup founded in 2020 is dedicated to developing innovative medical solutions particularly in the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases. More... TaiRx's cancer drug receives Orphan Drug status from US FDA, selenium injection expands into East Asian markets

TaiRx announced that the its new cancer drug was granted Orphan Drug status by the US FDA at the end of January, a move that is expected to attract investment and potential partners. National Taiwan University Hospital claims world's first 'beating heart' transplant

National Taiwan University Hospital said Wednesday that its medical team completed a heart transplant surgery that kept the donor heart beating during the transplantation process. The hospital held a press conference on Wednesday to provide details about the surgery, claiming it to be the world's first of its kind. It said the procedure was also featured in the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Techniques, per CNA. More...

United Orthopedic deepens its presence in the North American market

United Orthopedic (TW: 4129) announced that several of its products are expected to receive approval from the US FDA and be launched this year, including the Modular Revision Hip and Press-Fit Patellar Knee implants. The company plans to continue introducing innovative products in the US as it deepens its presence in the North American market. In response to the challenge of tariffs from the US, United Orthopedic emphasized that the US is the world’s largest market for orthopedic joint implants, and market development efforts in the US have begun to bear fruit, with double-digit revenue growth in recent years and its revenue share from the US steadily increasing.
