Biotech Industrial Academy
Cultivating biotechnology industry talent
With the joint efforts of the government and private sector, Taiwan’s domestic biotechnology industry has continued to
grow, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry clusters have gradually taken shape. However, the industry also faces
challenges, including a shortage of talent among generic pharmaceutical companies seeking to compete in international
markets. At the same time, the number of innovative drug companies has continued to increase, and the demand for
skilled professionals is expected to grow accordingly.
Recognizing that talent development is closely linked
to the growth of the industry, the Taiwan Bio Industry
Organization (TBIO) established the Biotechnology Industry
Talent Development Academy in 2016. Guided by the core
principle of “The industry understands the industry
best; we train our own talent,” the Academy is
committed to cultivating the skilled professionals needed
by the biotechnology industry.
Based on the principles of systematic development,
practical application, and continuous improvement,
the Academy designs training programs according to
the needs of the industry, invites qualified and
experienced instructors to deliver the courses, and
continuously monitors and improves training outcomes
through long-term evaluationand follow-up.
In 2017 and 2019, the Academy was recognized with the
Bronze Award under the Talent Quality-management System
(TTQS) by Taiwan’s Workforce Development Agency. In 2019, the
Academy was also honored with the National Talent Development
Award (NTDA) presented by the Workforce Development Agency,
making it the only training organization in Taiwan’s biotechnology
sector to receive this recognition.
